Babaji Smriti Divas is celebrated on July 25 every year in remembrance of the blessing and assurance given to Gurudeva Paramahansa Yogananda by Mahavatar Babaji. Babaji gave darshan to Guruji on this day at his 4 Garpar Road home in Kolkata, telling him “You are the one I have chosen to spread the message of Kriya Yoga in the west.”
Noida ashram, Delhi, and Gurugram kendras conducted commemorative programmes on this day.
At Noida Ashram, a special morning meditation session was conducted which included cosmic chants and kirtans.
The evening programme was conducted at the ashram auditorium. It included an hour-long group meditation followed by a talk by Brahmachari Alokananda. Instances of Babaji’s appearance to our Gurudeva and Param Gurus, described in Autobiography of a Yogi, were quoted.
The commemoration programme came to a close with pushpanjali. Devotees participated with enthusiasm and joy. After the programme, Guru Langar was served to all devotees.
Babaji Smriti Divas was similarly commemorated with a special group meditation, chanting, and pushpanjali at Delhi and Gurugram Kendras on the same day.
