YSS Delhi Kendra was blessed by the presence of YSS/SRF president Swami Chidananda Giri ji who arrived there in the morning of October 30, accompanied by Swami Vishwanandaji and Brahmachari Saujanayanandaji from USA. They came to India, via London.
On their arrival at the airport, they were warmly received by YSS General Secretary Swami Samarananandaji; YSS Treasurer Swami Suddhanandaji; Incharge, YSS Noida Ashram Swami Lalitanandaji; Brahmachari Vinayanandaji; YSS Board Member Sri K N Bakshi and a few other senior devotees. Swami Smarananandaji presented Swami Chidanandaji with a bouquet after draping him with a shawl. Swami Suddhanandaji presented a bouquet to Swami Vishwanandaji and Swami Lalitanandaji presented another bouquet to Brahmachari Saujanyanandaji.
It was truly a historic moment for Yogoda Satsanga Society of India - Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji's spiritual organisation founded in 1917. The visit of Swami Chidanandaji as YSS/SRF president to India in the centenary year of YSS also happens to be the first visit by the organisation's president in many years. A function was organized at the Kendra to extend a hearty welcome to the monastics.
Earlier in the day, more than 100 devotees had gathered at the Kendra and were eagerly awaiting their arrival. Though the journey from airport was slow due to heavy traffic but the devotees stood their ground patiently in joyous and loving expectation of meeting the president of the organization and the other two monastics.
As the cars arrived and Swami Chidanandaji stepped on to the red carpet, sounds of conch shells filled the air. Swami Smarananandaji garlanded Swami Chidanandaji, and Swami Suddhanandaji and Swami Lalitanandaji garlanded Swami Vishwanandaji and Brahmachari Saujanyanandaji respectively. All of them were ushered on to the red carpet laid for their welcome. As the monastics walked over the carpeted passage, devotees from either side showered rose petals and blew conch shells.
The atmosphere was so charged and devotees so uplifted that each one was eager to pranam at the feet of the revered monastics, what many termed as a "memory of a lifetime!" This divine occasion was a wonderful opportunity for devotees to not just meet their beloved president, but also to receive his blessings.
After entering the building, the three monks visited the Dhyana Mandir to offer their respects to the great Gurus. But for devotees more blessings were to come as all three monks after coming out of the Dhyana Mandir, seated themselves on their designated seats in an open but well decorated verandah for devotees to offer their loving pranams. Devotees formed a queue and quietly came over one by one to offer flower petals and pranam at their holy feet. Continuous chanting by the volunteers added fervor to the occasion.
After the pranaming was over, Swami Chidanandaji showered petals and offered his pranam at the picture of Guruji specially kept for this occasion, after this he was gracious to shower petals on the bhajan team who had been continuously doing bhajans and kirtans , and then all three monks left for their rooms.
All the devotees who turned up for the function were offered refreshments at the end.
